Role: Founder & CEO ?? Chad's WHY: I started Metro Food Rescue with a simple goal, to WASTE LESS & FEED MORE. The fact that we waste 40% of our food while 1 in 5 kids don't have enough to eat made me know I needed to be a part of the solution.?As the father of 4 young kids, I can't imagine the pain of not knowing how I would feed them their next meal.?I feel so fortunate to be able to do this work and want to thank all of our supporters who make this work possible.?? Fresh produce incoming! Today, we delivered a truckload of fresh, nutritious fruits and veggies to one of our amazing community partners because everyone deserves access to healthy food.

?????? ?????? ???????? ???? ???????????????? Last month, we rescued 245,860 pounds of food, creating 204,833 meals for those in need! We’re ?????????????? ???????? and ?????????????? ????????—one meal at a time.

?????????? ???????? ???? ????????????! Some of our incredible volunteers spent the day at Make Food Not Waste, transforming rescued food and ingredients into delicious, nourishing meals for the community. Even our Board Chair, Howard Dembs, rolled up his sleeves to give the gift of his time! We are beyond grateful for our volunteers' dedication, passion, and kindness. Every meal made is a step toward a stronger, more food-secure community. This is heart work, and it makes a difference.

When a major water main break hit Southwest Detroit, leaving the community in crisis, Laura Chavez-Wazeerud-Din, CEO of Southwest Detroit Business Association, wasted no time taking action. Metro Food Rescue is honored to support her leadership and the resilience of this community during such a challenging time to ensure no one goes without food. The water main break has impacted 476 residents in Southwest Detroit. Crews are working around the clock to repair the damage, and in the meantime, we’ve stepped in to provide support. Our hearts are with the community during this challenging time. #CommunityStrong #SupportDetroit
