If you are still not sure about Contextual Bandits vs A/B Testing, here are 3 clear cases where Bandits beat A/B testing any day of the week. While A/B testing is familiar and simple, in today’s gaming world, it’s not enough. The best games are no longer just optimizing for the average player—they’re adapting to each player in real-time. That’s where Contextual Bandits come in. In this video, Metica’s Machine Learning Engineer Andrew Maher breaks down 3 specific examples of where Bandits make so much more sense than A/B tests and why. ? IAPs ? Level Difficulty ? Ad Frequency If you’re still relying on A/B tests alone, you’re leaving growth and revenue on the table. Are you using install source data to scale your game? If you're not, our latest blog written by our co-founder Justin Stolzenberg explains 3 reasons why you should be! In the fiercely competitive mobile gaming world, User Acquisition (UA) attribution data is often underutilized—but it’s a game-changer. It bridges the gap between what you know about your players and the experience they expect when they first enter your game. At Metica, we’ve seen how leveraging install source data dynamically can: ?? Boost early-game revenue with tailored initial offers. ?? Balance monetization and retention through dynamic ad placements. ?? Improve retention by optimizing game difficulty based on player expectations. But here’s the catch: static rules and A/B testing aren’t enough anymore. The key is combining attribution data with behavioral signals like session length and tutorial completion—and using AI to adapt in real time. With privacy changes like Apple’s ATT, the future of scalable growth lies in personalized, AI-driven player experiences. ?? Read the blog post here - https://lnkd.in/d6FtKEiT ?? Ready to unlock the full potential of your data? The question every game studio should be asking right now: Stick with A/B testing or embrace Contextual Multi-Armed Bandits? We keep saying it but at Metica, we believe the future of gaming lies in real-time, personalized player experiences—and Contextual Bandits are the key to unlocking this potential. Unlike A/B testing, which provides one-size-fits-all answers, Contextual Bandits dynamically tailor decisions to individual players, driving engagement, retention, and revenue. This blog, written by Andrew Maher, not only explains ?? why you should move beyond A/B testing, but how to set them up for your game. Here’s the ‘why’? Ad Frequency: Contextual Bandits adjust to individual tolerances, not averages. Game Difficulty: Players’ skills and motivations differ—so should their experiences. Dynamic Offers: Bandits deliver the right offer to the right player at the right time. ??To find out the ‘How’? Read our blog here - https://lnkd.in/dwAazn7X Getting started may sound daunting, but with the right approach, you can revolutionize how your game interacts with players. From designing bold variants to aligning on success metrics, we’ve shared a lot of what you need to know in our latest blog and are always keen to engage with games who want to know more. Are you struggling to grow UA and your game? Here is a CMO’s guide to why it’s critical to bridge the chasm that exists between Monetization and UA. Revenue stalls, fingers point, and the "blame game" begins. UA says, "We need higher LTV!" Product counters with, "We need better traffic!". How do you fix it? All CMOs will relate to our latest blog, written by our new co-founder, Justin Stolzenberg ?? PGC London. After 22 years in gaming—scaling companies, optimizing UA, and co-founding businesses— he has seen this cycle far too often. No one has bad intentions - everyone is trying to meet the KPI's they are set with. The blame game is because of the silos between them. The cost of disconnected teams is enormous—lost growth, missed retention opportunities, and untapped revenue potential. In this blog, we share lessons learned from decades in the industry, including: ?? Why early LTV improvements are key to scalable UA. ?? How collaboration between UA and Product unlocks incremental audience growth. ?? Real-world examples, like how culturalizing creatives AND in-game experiences transformed results. Justin also discusses why he has joined Metica to help studios bridge the gap between UA and monetization. With AI-driven personalization at the core, we’re empowering teams to create a seamless growth loop between UA, pLTV, optimization and monetization that drive sustainable results.
