Perioperative Nurse Week is celebrated every year in the second week of November. It is an important week celebrating the achievements and contributions of perioperative nurses to the medical field. These nurses handle patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures and are irreplaceable. Methodist Hospitals staff and surgeons celebrated our perioperative nurses throughout the week. We are thankful for everything they do for our patients!
关于我们
Methodist Hospital has been Healing Northwest Indiana for 100 years. For an entire century, our doctors, nurses, and staff have worked tirelessly to keep their neighbors well. And while we remember our past contributions to our community, Methodist Hospitals is looking to the future. We have invested more than $14 million in the last 10 years, and nearly $3 million in the last two years to ensure that we are on the leading edge of diagnostic imaging technologies. And while we continue to invest to better treat the injured and sick, we’re also taking the lead in meeting the overall health needs of the communities we serve. For example, Methodist is confronting food insecurity with our Nutrition Station and addressing sexual violence and exploitation at our new STAR Center. Methodist Hospitals doctors, nurses and staff are enthusiastically embracing these initiatives and are actively participating in efforts to improve hospital care that enable us to better serve Northwest Indiana as a truly independent health system. Recent initiatives include: ? A new interventional radiology suite at our Southlake campus ? New cardiac catheter labs at our Northlake and Southlake campuses ? The addition of advanced PET-CT technology to the CareFirst Imaging Center ? Strategic partnerships with UChicago Medicine in key services lines, such as neonatal intensive care ? A new outpatient pharmacy at our Southlake campus ? A partnership with IU Northwest to establish a family practice residency program Methodist Hospitals is improving quality, safety, employee engagement and patient experience while expanding into more Northwest Indiana communities and strengthening key service lines by attracting high quality providers and acquiring advanced technologies. Methodist Hospitals is fully committed to achieving our stated goal: To embark on our second century of service as a successful, independent healthcare system.

???? As we celebrate Veterans Day, let’s pause in remembrance of those who gave their lives securing our peace and freedom and all those who are now serving our country, sacrificing their dreams to preserve ours. We owe each of them the highest regard, respect, and honor. Many members of our Methodist family have served or have loved ones serving in the armed forces. These brave men and women provide us with the comfort and peace of mind that our ideals, liberties, and freedom will always be protected. #onemethodist #HappyVeteransDay

October Daisy Award Winner - Kelly Wieser, RN, Southlake Campus 2W3 ? Recently, multiple patients nominated Kelly. The first patient commented, “Kelly is a saint on earth. She did everything possible to aid in the comfort of my friend.” The second patient commented, “Nurse Kelly is such a kind, efficient, competent, awesome nurse. She is truly amazing.” They went on to write a very detailed letter about her. ? “I am writing to document the phenomenal experience I had with Nurse Kelly when I was admitted to the hospital as a cardiac patient. She was so incredibly patient, kind and compassionate with me. I was truly astounded at her professionalism. She was warm, personable, and extremely knowledgeable. Nurse Kelly treated me like her own family member, even though I am an 82-year-old dark brown immigrant man from India who is completely different from her and her culture. I saw that Nurse Kelly was drawn in hundreds of directions at once, since many people, medical professionals and patients alike were seeking her help. Despite the extreme demands on Nurse Kelly, she was highly efficient, remarkably attentive, extremely nurturing, and truly a terrific caregiver or nurse. Kelly informed my daughter, in person and via phone of all the updates on my case, and she did not frown or seem impatient even one time, even though she was on a 12-hour shift during a very busy season. Words are truly inadequate to express what an amazing individual nurse Kelly is. She even allowed my daughter to take a photo of her so that we could preserve this memory of Kelly's five-star service at Methodist Hospitals. She really deserves the Daisy Award. She truly deserves it. ? Thank you, Kelly, for caring for our community!
