Methodist Midlothian is celebrating the completion of its $20 million expansion, which adds 30 new inpatient beds and intermediate care suites. The hospital opened just four years ago, but Methodist's strategy from the beginning has been to support Ellis County's fast-growing population. President Jary Ganske says, "This milestone demonstrates our dedication to this region and our strong partnerships with local providers to ensure seamless patient care." Methodist Charlton's Breast Center team stepped up for the Sister to Sister Fitness Festival, and President Michael Stewart joined them. Organized by the Celebrating Life Foundation, the festival included a 5K run and walk as well as a virtual run. We were there to educate, encourage, and empower those affected by breast cancer. We also brought out some cool swag and warm smiles.

Methodist Midlothian recognized Hispanic Heritage Month by honoring the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. We celebrated with a mariachi band, enjoyed a special menu in the cafe, and learned about the significant accomplishments of Hispanic figures in healthcare. Hispanic heritage is our heritage!

Sunset High School seniors dove into the fast-paced emergency department at Methodist Dallas. About 30 students from the school’s NAF Academy of Health Sciences program took a tour and visited with staff to learn what goes into running a lifesaving facility. The trip was part of the seniors' fall semester project. It's too early to tell whether some of them will end up having a career in emergency care, but they all scored an A+ in curiosity!

Methodist Mansfield participated in the Trinity River Authority Health Fair. The theme of the event was football, so we brought interactive displays, educational resources, and tailgate snacks that promoted healthier lifestyles and preventive care. We’re always game to score points with our community.

Methodist Celina employees were busy as bees at community events this October, handing out candy at Celina’s Beware of the Square event and celebrating the homecoming parade and football game. Staff passed out cowbells at the game, and leaders talked up the hospital’s services and job opportunities. We, and the city, can’t wait for Methodist Celina to open. Methodist Richardson hosted its third annual Chili Cook-off and served up a whopping 17 unique recipes. The mammography department won the People’s Choice award, and cardiology took the Chef’s Choice trophy. A spicy time was had by all!
