At Metallus, innovation is part of our DNA and we are continually pushing the limits to make our materials better and last longer. Recently, we teamed up with industry leaders and Argonne National Laboratory which has secured funding from the Department of Energy to spearhead advancements in surface materials technology. Our focus is on boosting the wear resistance of bottom hole assembly (BHA) components, which are critical in geothermal drilling. ? The exciting part? We're working on a new chemistry for the ultra-fast boriding process that could lead to significant durability gains. Our goal is to extend the wear life of these rock-engaging BHA components by 25%, surpassing current cladding methodologies. #wearemetallus #Innovation #AdvancedMaterials #Metallurgy

Our summer interns are back at school after spending a productive summer with us. Our interns spent their time diving into their projects with enthusiasm and creativity. It’s been incredible to watch them learn, grow, and contribute to our team’s success. Beyond their work, our interns made an impact in our community by volunteering at a local foodbank. They also participated in professional development workshops and enjoyed some networking events including a fun evening at X-Golf. We are thrilled these talented individuals brought their unique skills and insights to our organization and ended the year with a summer intern celebration. ?We are thrilled to announce that Metallus has been awarded $3.5 million in grants from JobsOhio to support the planned expansion of our steelmaking plants. This funding will enable us to provide comprehensive training, modernize our equipment, and upskill our workforce, allowing us to deploy state-of-the-art steelmaking technology. These advancements will help us meet the growing demands of both existing and new customers. To celebrate this significant milestone, we recently hosted a groundbreaking event to mark the beginning of our exciting expansion. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Lt. Gov. Jon Husted, Bill Koehler from TeamNEO, and Ray Hexamer from the Stark Economic Development Board for joining us and digging the first hole for our new bloom reheat furnace. Last week, we were honored to host a delegation from the United States Army to launch our continuous bloom reheat furnace project. We shared progress on various capital projects underway throughout our plants and educated the group about our steelmaking process. The visit ended with a tour of our steel plants, where the group observed our steelmaking operations in action—from melting, casting, and rolling at our Faircrest Steel Plant to heat treatment at our Gambrinus Steel Plant. #Metallus #Manufacturing #UnitedStatesArmy #Defense #Partnership
