?? Metalenz is proud to announce that our co-founder and CEO Rob Devlin is the 2025 Recipient of Optica’s Prestigious Kevin P Thompson Optical Design Innovator Award. As this year’s recipient, Rob is recognized for his critical contributions to foundational optical metasurface design, his pioneering leadership to commercialize metasurface optics, and product development of the first polarization sensor for consumer markets, leveraging semiconductor foundries for mass production of meta-optics. Since his Ph.D. from Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences in 2017, Rob has worked tirelessly to bring the foundational work of his fellow researchers and colleagues in the lab of Federico Capasso into mass markets. Achieving this feat in such a short time is a testament to his perseverance, and passion for his work. Rob's leadership and vision for building great products from fundamentally new technology have put metalenz at the forefront of the next revolution in optics.
