With the support of the Arizona Fire Chiefs Association, we hosted the 2024 Women's Leadership Conference, "Igniting Leadership in the Desert." Over 150 women working in various fire service capacities came from 12 states (Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Maryland, New York, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Utah, and Wisconsin), and 47 agencies were represented. We want to extend a special recognition to Amazon, our presenting Fire Chief-level sponsor, and CORE, our Battalion Chief-level sponsor, for supporting this event. In addition, we would like to thank the City of Mesa for supporting our effort. Thanks to Mesa Council District 4 Councilmember Jenn Duff and Assistant City Manager Scott Butler for welcoming conference attendees to Mesa. Conference topics focused on the challenges faced by women working in the fire service, women's health, resilience, and creating a legacy. Attendees strengthened their leadership skills, were empowered, and built professional networks.
