This new one-of-a-kind immersive training course was specifically designed for Surveyors, SITs, and Survey Techs who work on roadway design projects. The following is an overview of some of the topics this course covers. Students will gain hands-on experience with OpenRoads Designer (ORD), covering: - Workspace/Workset settings, Ribbon & Backstage menus - Differences between COGO & CAD elements, plus TxDOT geometry tools & reports - Geographic coordinate systems, LiDAR data, & state plane mapping - Importing/exporting survey data (TXT, CRV, RW5) & merging field books - TxDOT field coding & linking codes for automated mapping - Survey data editing, terrain models, contours, and breakline extraction - Mapping/topo file creation, annotation, and labeling - Terrain model merging, LiDAR-based modeling, and ROW file creation - Cross-section display for existing/proposed lines - Survey sheet generation, roll plots, and PSETs - Intro to LiDAR, photogrammetry, and site layout tools This course is ideal for those working with DOT, County, and Municipal roadway design projects or looking to strengthen their OpenRoads Survey workflow!
