For the first time ever, we are seeing the warm side of AI - it’s not scary, it’s lovely, and it's giving anime vibes. The Studio Ghibli vibes. AI is now not the black mirror version of reality that the media projects. We're seeing people share AI-generated Ghibli-style images of their loved ones with... genuine joy. AI feels less like a threat and more like a creative companion. AI is finally creating moments of delight instead of anxiety in the mass psyche. This might be the cultural shift we've been waiting for. When was the last time you saw people genuinely and uniformly excited - not worried - about an AI feature? If you haven’t tried this, do it now. Make a Studio Ghibli version of your family / friends / team. It’s warm, it’s joyful. And it really brings people together. While the biggest news of this week could have been that Google launched Gemini 2.5 with incredible technical specs. OpenAI understood something that Google missed completely. Hi Folks, Merlin was down for about 35 minutes between 9:50 GMT and 10:25 GMT. We push for 99.99% uptime and hence this was a bad incident. We had an the issue with some of our internal services where we could not verify the authentication status of every account. We identified the issue as soon as it went into production. We rotated all the credentials being used to verify the authentication status, which took longer than expected. We're really sorry for the inconvenience caused due to Merlin being down for such a long time during the day without any warning. We're working to incorporate better processes so that this does not repeat again in the future. Regards Team Merlin AI

Humbling as this recognition is, it reinforces a core belief of mine: Obsessing over user habits is surprisingly powerful. A few rules I live by, to build great digital product experiences, like Save to Merlin (read article!) ??? Don't build isolated features; build ecosystems. Everything should connect seamlessly, allowing users to effortlessly exploit network effects. ?? UX isn’t just design, it’s a retention engine — frictionless features (pinning, quick access, one-click-do-shit) drive retention more than any fancy growth hack. ??Platform agnosticism isn't an option—it's mandatory. Be everywhere your users are, and sync experiences across platforms without friction. Grateful to learn alongside (and quietly take notes from) some of India's best. Claude 3.7 Sonnet just generated a mathematical animation flawlessly in seconds. For anyone who’s ever used tools like Manim, you know how painstaking it can be to create high-quality mathematical and scientific animations. Every frame, every line of code, every adjustment—hours can be lost in the process. But now, this new AI model doesn’t just generate code—it understands the math, visualizes it, and produces results so polished they feel almost magical.
