Thank you for allowing us to join the 8th annual Spring Into Leadership Women's Conference. It was a remarkable day filled with valuable discussions and transformative ideas on how to elevate your leadership journey. These insights are designed to help you take purposeful action and elevate your personal and professional growth 1. Activate the Pause Sometimes, the most powerful action we can take is to do nothing at all. By activating stillness, we reclaim our time and focus, allowing us to gain the clarity needed to achieve what truly matters. 2. Activate the Network Finding and engaging with the right network is crucial. Be active and give generously within your network. If there's no reciprocal benefit, it might be time to reassess and find a more supportive network. Elevate by surrounding yourself with the right people. 3. Activate Partnership and Collaboration Intentional collaboration is key. Leverage unique talents, skills, and abilities to create powerful partnerships that drive success and innovation. 4. Activate Engagement Stay aware and engaged, especially during politically active times. Understand the impact of external events on your personal and professional life. Active engagement is essential to navigate and influence the circumstances around us.

U.S. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Suzanne P. Clark issued the following statement earlier this week regarding the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) final vote to ban employer noncompete agreements. “The Federal Trade Commission’s decision to ban employer noncompete agreements across the economy is not only unlawful but also a blatant power grab that will undermine American businesses’ ability to remain competitive." “Since its inception over 100 years ago, the FTC has never been granted the constitutional and statutory authority to write its own competition rules. Noncompete agreements are either upheld or dismissed under well-established state laws governing their use. Yet, today, three unelected commissioners have unilaterally decided they have the authority to declare what’s a legitimate business decision and what’s not by moving to ban noncompete agreements in all sectors of the economy." “This decision sets a dangerous precedent for government micromanagement of business and can harm employers, workers, and our economy." The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has filed suit in Federal Court in the Eastern District of Texas seeking Declaratory and Injunctive relief against the FTC and it's new noncompete ban.

Naming your business is probably the most important factor in getting your brand to stick. In addition to branding and web design, we were hired to come up with a name for a new FL-based law and consulting firm. After a few naming rounds, we ultimately would land on MERIS. Being a new firm in a high stakes industry, we needed to consider several points in order to allow the partners to make the strongest impact and first impressions upon launch. The name needed to be: BRANDABLE (ie. look good on merch and collateral) EASY TO REMEMBER 8 LETTERS OR LESS UNIVERSAL NOT TOO MASCULINE / FEMININE PROFESSIONAL, BUT UNIQUE EVOKE A SENSE OF HERITAGE (ie. sound trustworthy and established) How can you apply this to your business? Keep these questions in mind: ? Is the name available? ? Is it very common? (Overuse is a thing) ? Is it memorable, catchy (1-3 syllables) ? Is it concise enough for application (social handles, merch, etc. consider the spacing the lettering could take) ? Does it convey the ‘first impression feelings’ you want your brand to spark in your audience? #lawfirmbranding #brandidentitydevelopment
