We’re pleased to introduce you to a longtime team member of Meridio, Barrett Caton who is our Platforms Director. Attending Western North Carolina University Barrett pursued studies in Special Need Education and Outdoor Leadership. Barrett has been with Meridio since 2019 and brings 10 years of technology experience to Meridio utilizing systems such as Big Query,ChargeBee, Looker Studio, Make, Parabola, Fibery, Zapier and Hubspot to streamline our data engineering, e-commerce, data analyzation, and analytics as a company. When he’s not working, Barrett can be found in Charlotte, NC enjoying time with his wife and two kids exploring local disc golf and ball golf courses or planning their next National Park trip. He’s already visited 11 of the 63 total National Parks across the United States, his favorite being a 25 day expedition rafting the Grand Canyon. Join us in welcoming Barrett to the team! Want to learn more about Barrett? Here’s what he had to say in a recent Q&A session: Q: What led you to Meridio? “Well I always enjoyed technology and computers but really just did that as a hobby. Before Meridio, I was working with autistic young adults, and there was this movement of people who wanted to encourage technology for autistic kids. A lot of parents were fighting it and looking at the new tech as an inhibitor instead of a tool, so I started looking for a more tech centered role and that’s when I found Meridio.” Q: What does the Platforms Director do? “I like to tell folks that I'm like the backend of Meridio, connecting the different pieces: data into our enrollment systems, data to our carriers, and data to our partners as well as analytics and overseeing our platform as a whole. I'm really just the "data guy." I think I'm good in this role because I don’t like gray areas, and with data, there’s no room for gray area.” Q: When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing? “Dad time, disc golf, ball golf and our family goal is to visit all the national parks, so each year, we plan at least one trip. Right now a lot of my free time is spent woodworking, and planning these future trips. I try to keep in mind parks to visit without the kids versus parks we can visit when they are older, like climbing the Tetons." Q: That sounds like it will be a beautiful trip. How many national parks have you visited, Do you have a favorite? “We’ve visited 11 national parks so far, my favorite being a 25 day expedition rafting the Grand Canyon.”

I have a passion for problem solving, and I love the team I work with. I'm excited to see where the future takes us." Q: What question do you get most often from business owners?
