The mental health statistics in the United States are staggering. According to the World Health Organization, one in seven 10- to 19-year-olds experiences a mental health condition that often goes untreated. To address this, Meridian provided a $50,000 grant to establish the Back of the Yards Neighborhood Council and Esperanza Health Centers therapy services to fit the unique needs of students facing an array of social issues. Creating a culture of belonging and ending social isolation for middle-schoolers. That’s what No One Eats Alone Day, a positive prevention program, was created to do. Today, we're joining students at Kellar Middle school in Robbins, IL. The preteens will enjoy breakfast together, showcase their artwork through a mural “Bridging Hands, Taking Flight,” and participate in conversation starters.
