  • A little preparation can go a long way! While there’s no certainty if or when Mount Spurr will erupt, having a plan in place is key for South Central Alaska. Here’s a few items to consider to ensure you’re prepared for any outcome: ✔️ Have masks and eye protection ready for potential ashfall, and cover outdoor equipment with plastic sheeting. ✔️ Stock up on extra water and non-perishable food. ✔️ Protect vehicles from ash buildup by limiting travel, rinsing off regularly, covering air filters with fine mesh such as pantyhose, and avoid using windshield wipers to prevent abrasive damage. ✔️ Keep emergency alerts turned on for the latest updates. ✔️ Make a plan with family and neighbors in case conditions change. Staying safe means being one step ahead! #AlaskaPrepared #EmergencyPlanning #MtSpurr #MeridianManagement

  • Did you know? The biggest cost overruns in oil & gas projects often come from small inefficiencies that add up—misaligned schedules, supply chain delays, or regulatory missteps. The right project management approach keeps every moving part in sync, preventing costly setbacks before they happen. What’s one lesson you've learned about avoiding inefficiencies in large-scale projects? #ProjectManagement #OilGasGroups #EnergyProjects #MeridianManagement

  • Delivering Alaska’s First 5G Network with GCI! How Alaska’s largest and most advanced network got even stronger, and Meridian Management is proud to have played a critical role in making it happen. As the Owner’s Representative Project Manager for GCI’s Anchorage 5G modernization project, Meridian was responsible for ensuring that every aspect of this complex, high-stakes initiative was successfully executed—on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. 🛠️ 76 macro cell sites redesigned and upgraded 🛠️ Full infrastructure overhaul – foundations, power, fiber-optic backhaul, radios, antennas, and towers 🛠️ Vastly improved speeds and customer experience GCI faced a major challenge—its wireless network was outdated and fragmented after years of acquisitions, resulting in capacity constraints and reliability issues. To compete in the evolving telecom market, GCI needed a bold, market wide 5G modernization. The Solution: With Ericsson as the technology partner and Meridian as its project delivery partner, the project required a full-scale rebuild of nearly every cell site in Anchorage. Meridian Management ensured that all elements—from power and cabinets to fiber extensions and backhaul transport—were delivered efficiently in just 18 months (six months ahead of schedule). This was more than just a network upgrade; it was a transformational project that set the stage for future expansion into the rest of Alaska’s communities. Our team’s deep experience in construction oversight, permitting, program management, and quality assurance made us the right partner for the job. We’re honored to continue supporting GCI in bridging the digital divide and delivering next-generation connectivity across the state. • Project management isn’t tied to just one degree or background. Many paths can lead to a successful career in the field, and each brings unique strengths to the table: Engineering & Construction – Best for managing infrastructure, telecom, or energy projects with technical expertise. Business & Finance – Strengthens budgeting, risk management, and leadership for high-level oversight. STEM – Sharpens problem-solving and analysis for complex project execution. Liberal Arts & Communications – Enhances communication and adaptability for stakeholder coordination. No matter the path you choose, project management is about problem-solving, leadership, and execution. The key is gaining experience, developing critical skills, and finding the right projects to apply them to. Have you considered a career in project management? #MeridianManagement #Careers #HigherEducation
