“So, what do you do?” It’s a question we all get asked, but for Meridianites it’s a question without an easy answer. Every project at Meridian is unique, and while we believe there’s strength in our unique approach to the work, it also makes it hard to sum up what we do in an elevator pitch (especially if that elevator is only going a couple of floors!). We often say, “We are a mission-driven, nonprofit consultancy,” but what does that mean? To us, it means we’re committed to helping our partners improve lives, the environment, and the economy. For over 25 years, individuals, businesses, government entities, NGOs, and more have relied on us to help them tackle complex environmental and social issues. We bring a fresh approach to our partnerships—whether we’re providing strategic advice, incubating a new organization, facilitating contentious dialogue, or designing a multi-year collaborative. We co-create spaces where participants feel heard and invested in finding solutions and crafting a shared vision. We want there to be enough buy-in on that final vision that the people at the tables we’re facilitating feel empowered and motivated to execute that vision in the real world. Learn more about our unique approach to the work by visiting our website: https://lnkd.in/dpnQPmyD. And hear from some of our colleagues below, as they share more about what makes Meridian Institute unique. #facilitation #convening #consultancy #sustainability #ESG #systemsthinking #systemschange #innovation

关于我们
We are a mission-driven, nonprofit consultancy. For over 25 years, we have helped our partners improve lives, the environment, and the economy. We meet people—and problems—where they are. Whether you’re an international policymaker or a local conservation group, whether you’re facing a systemic issue or an organizational conflict, we tailor our skills and services to fit the stage and scale of the issues at hand. We have expertise in a wide range of focus areas, including climate solutions, food systems, health & wellbeing, life on land, oceans & freshwater, and technology & society. But where we excel is in our systems-based approach. Across issues, boundaries, and systems, our work is a catalyst for powerful impact.

Just back from the Systemic Investing Summit, and my cup is full of insights, commitment, and optimism for what’s possible. In these complex times, the gathering—brilliantly hosted by TransCap Initiative and TWIST: Investing for Systems Change—was a much-needed boost of energy, clarity, and connection! A few reflections: ?? Inner & Outer Work: Driving systemic change isn’t just about better tools and frameworks—it’s also about the inner work. Transforming finance requires a shift in mindsets, leadership, and decision-making cultures. How might we create compelling journeys that inspire real commitment? ? The Messy Middle is Where the Magic Happens: In a world that is increasingly leaning toward simplification and polarization, the ‘messy middle’ is filled with opportunities. Embracing complexity with integrity and care allows us to move forward in meaningful ways. How might we foster coherence amidst complexity? How do we build ‘islands of coherence’ that fuel regenerative futures? ?? Bioregional Scale = Real-World Impact: More and more, it’s clear that testing and supporting new ways of operating at a regional level is where transformation can truly take root. I’m excited to keep exploring this with Meridian Institute's Field Labs. How do we move from theory to practice in regions ready to rethink how capital and change happens? Huge thanks to the TransCap Initiative and TWIST: Investing for Systems Change teams for an incredible gathering—proof that events can be insightful, impactful, connective, and real fun! SO much gratitude to Dominic Hofstetter, Hannah Paterson, Ivana Gazibara, Magdalena J. Schneider, Andre Ticoulat, Johannes Tschiderer, Alexandra (Alie) Korijn, Alison Fort, and Francesca Merletti for making the magic happen! Still reflecting and feeling inspired by (re)connecting, having great conversations, and participating in sessions with:?Ammy Vogtlander, Lucas Matarazzo, Idongesit Sampson, Britta Gruenig, Professional Certified Coach Jennifer O'Connor, Alberto Gómez-Obregón, Tania Rodriguez Riestra, Rex Raimond, Erin Morrissey, Erin Duddy, Seth Fleisher, Kirsten Andersen, Philipp Essl, Viliana Dzhartova, Indy Johar, Robert Ricigliano, Jennifer van der Meer, Amber Q., Karl "Charly" Kleissner, Leon Seefeld, Fumi Sugeno, Karin Müller, Alban Yau, Natalia Arjomand and many many more ?

Congratulations to data354, a Lacuna Fund Climate & Forests grantee, for successfully conducting a four-day pilot data collection mission towards a scalable model for biomass assessment in mangrove ecosystems! The collection process made use of data354's adapted and streamlined protocol, which facilitated data collection within the mangrove environment to ensure accurate data collection for below-ground carbon stocks. This data collection, a collaboration with ActumDev, highlighted the importance of aligning field-level operations with technological innovations across organizations, as well as?key Lacuna Fund values of data accessibility and equity. ?? ?? We're also excited to hear that this collaboration is growing as data354 continues to advance partnerships and data sharing. Delighted to share this analysis of the cost of transition to regenerative and agroecological approaches in high and low area landscapes in Murang'a County Regen10 conducted in partnership with PELUM Kenya Association. It highlights the need for business, policy and financing decision-making to work in a complementary manner to center farmers and support the right levers of change for the long-term. ??This new instalment in our #TransitionPathways series explores tea, coffee, maize and beans in Kenya’s Murang’a County. Our analysis suggests that transitions could generate around USD $125 million for Murang’a County’s agricultural landscapes within a 10-year period. But it is imperative that the costs of transition are shared between all food system actors, and that farmers have the support they need to adopt regenerative and agroecological practices, including: ??Publicly- and philanthropically- funded technical aid ??Tailored and sufficient financial support ??Protected land ownership This Transition Pathways brief was developed in partnership with PELUM Kenya Association – a network of organizations dedicated to supporting small-scale farmers???? Swipe below for key insights, and read the full brief on our website ?? https://lnkd.in/eXk93y5w #Regen10 #FoodSystems #Regenerative #Agroecology #Kenya

Thank you, British Embassy Berlin, for your support in hosting this event with our Just Rural Transition team! Melissa Pinfield | Holly Anne Foster #JustTransition #sustainableagriculture #regenerativeagriculture
It was a pleasure to welcome members of the global farming community to Berlin as part of our breakfast roundtable on the Just Transition in Agriculture. Many thanks to our FCDO colleagues and partners at Meridian Institute for organizing this insightful discussion. Farmers globally have to transition to sustainable agriculture and lower greenhouse gas emissions, all while maintaining price competitiveness. We are proud to act as meeting point for those creating agriculture policy and those primarily affected by it, particularly at the outset of the Global Forum on Food and Agriculture.
