People leaving incarceration often find themselves without support, resources such as housing, or even an idea of where to start the return to their daily lives. That’s why Mercy Care joined Arouet Foundation to host Through Our Lens. This was a re-entry simulation exercise to show what people navigating re-entry have to deal with from a system that isn’t always geared to help them be successful after they’ve served their time. Those who participated included people from the courts, county jails, the provider community, state agencies and more. It was an eye-opening two hours that included impactful stories from Arouet colleagues who were justice-involved themselves. Thank you to Arouet for your collaboration with us, to Junior Achievement of Arizona for making their BizTown facility available to us, and to everyone who attended.
