The Mission of Mercy Neighborhood Ministries (MNM) is to respond to the needs of the underserved in our community. Our overarching goal is to improve the quality of life of our neighbors by establishing a strong academic and economic foundation for future success, and providing a caring and welcoming environment for our seniors. For over 40 years, we have served over 300 families annually with multi-generational services throughout North Philadelphia. Through our early education, youth development, adult education, adult senior care, food distribution, and job readiness programs, we fight against the social inequities that keep our neighbors from the essential, basic resources they need for a healthy, sustainable and thriving life.

Our summer camp students took their learning outside of the classroom with WSFS Bank's Financial Education learning day. Students toured the space, heard about the various functions of a bank and participated in activities to increase their understanding of finances and money management. Thank you to Robert Juliano, VP, Director of Corporate Giving and Financial Education at WSFS Cares Foundation for planning and coordinating these initiatives that empower individuals of all ages with tools for a more economically prosperous future.

We were honored to host fellow nonprofits, leadership and staff from Scattergood Foundation and City of Philadelphia and the press for the presentation of $3.1 million in grant awards from the Overdose Prevention and Community Healing Fund. The fund - created in 2022 from the National Opioid Settlements - allows states to disburse funds to cities and communities throughout the country to help address the damages done to individuals, families, and communities because of the misuse of opioids. Mercy is grateful to receive a $100,000 grant from this fund in support of our Path to Prosperity job readiness program.
