The purpose of the Foundation is to support the mission and activities of Mercy Medical Center now and in the future.

Mercy Medical Center Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The Foundation was founded in 1977 by hospital administrator Sister Mary Lawrence Hallagan to support the operational, program and capital needs of Mercy Medical Center. Donations to the Foundation are tax deductible as allowed by law. Contributions made through the Foundation support things like technology advancement, growth and innovation, program and capital improvements and staff development. Gifts may be made to support specific areas of interest like the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center, Family Caregivers Center, Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy and Hospice Care, HallMar Village, DeWolf Family Innovation Center for Aging & Dementia and Mercy's Heart Center. Unrestricted gifts are used to support areas of greatest need and opportunity. Two weeks until #GivingTuesday! The Mercy Foundation is marking the hospital’s year-long 125th anniversary celebration by creating a matching gift challenge for Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is a global philanthropic effort the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Several members of the Foundation Board have joined alongside Fairfax State Savings Bank to match community donations to the Foundation, up to $62,500 in total.?Their generosity has the potential to raise $125,000 or more for Mercy.
