  • Mercy McAuley High School is pleased to announce it has received a $600,000 gift from Terry and Steve Schrantz, longtime supporters of Mercy McAuley and McAuley High Schools, which will be used to fund an endowed academic scholarship. Beginning with the Class of 2029, one high-achieving student each year will be awarded the Terry & Steve Schrantz Family Scholarship, a full 4-year academic scholarship. This gift is part of Mercy McAuley’s transformational capital campaign, which is designed to fund scholarships, campus improvements, and faith and academic program enhancements. Emmalyn Honan, an 8th grader at St. Ignatius School in Monfort Heights, is the first student to be offered the Terry & Steve Schrantz Family Scholarship. Emmalyn, daughter of Stephanie and Mike Honan of Colerain Township, plans to accept the scholarship on January 31, 2025, which is the first day 8th graders can accept high school admission and scholarship awards per Archdiocese of Cincinnati requirements. “We are thrilled to provide Mercy McAuley High School with this gift that recognizes students with high academic achievements,” says Terry Schrantz, a 1968 alumna and past board member of McAuley High School. “Mercy McAuley High School is known for its outstanding and innovative academic programs and curriculum. It is our pleasure to fund a scholarship that celebrates the strength of Mercy McAuley’s academics and recognizes high-achieving students who choose a Mercy McAuley education – an education that is second to none.” “We are incredibly grateful to Terry and Steve Schrantz for their generous gift and for their ongoing commitment to the students of Mercy McAuley,” says Brigitte Foley, President, Mercy McAuley High School. “The Terry and Steve Schrantz Family Scholarship will have a significant impact on our students who achieve exceptional academic success. We are thankful to the Schrantz family for sharing our commitment to providing our young women with a rigorous, top-notch education of the highest academic standards.”

  • Students in our Women Lead Business cohort recently visited the Federal Reserve Bank building, where they toured the vault and learned about the Federal Reserve’s system for funding our banks. They also toured Barnes Dennig accounting firm, where they learned about a career in public accounting from Assurance Manager Christa Woelfel. Thank you to Christa and all at Barnes Dennig for providing an outstanding learning experience for our students!

We want to extend a big thank you to chamber member Mercy McAuley High School for graciously hosting this month’s Women’s Networking Lunch! It was an inspiring afternoon as President Brigitte Foley shared Mercy McAuley’s exciting new upgrades and offerings. Tours were offered as well. And for the many alumnae attending it brought back great memories. We had ladies that graduated just three years ago and others that recently celebrated her 50th reunion! A special shoutout to chamber member Mill Town Market for the delicious lunch! Thank you to everyone who joined us. We’re looking forward to seeing you at next month’s luncheon at Bayley at Green Township on 12/10 for another great gathering! #ThankYouMercyMcAuley #ColerainChamber #WomensNetworking #CommunityConnections #MillTownMarket #BusinessNetworking #WomenInBusiness

Inspiring the next generation of young women to harness the power of S.T.E.M.! Today, The Christ Hospital Health Network proudly acted as the City Goes Red sponsor for the American Heart Association's STEM Goes Red for Girls event at the Cincinnati Museum Center. High school girls from across the tri-state gathered to hear from influential women in healthcare and engineering, who shared their journeys and advice about pursuing careers in STEM fields. The event kicked off with inspiring remarks from Dr. Shree Lata Radhakrishnan, our new Women's Heart Center cardiologist, who shared her personal journey in cardiovascular medicine. Students then participated in breakout sessions where they gained valuable insights—everything from career starting points to lessons these leaders wished they had known in high school. We were thrilled to have such incredible women from our network serve as role models, empowering the next generation to chase their dreams in STEM!
