The Sheep and the Shepherd I love that most nativity scenes include a sheep and shepherd in the imagery.? ? Not only do sheep and shepherds make a number of appearances throughout the Bible, the recounting of the nativity story tells us that angels appeared to shepherds to announce the birth of Jesus because God demonstrated his love to everyone, even those who were considered outcasts or unworthy.? ? Every nativity scene reminds us that Jesus came for everyone. At Mercy House Global, our mission is to reach vulnerable families, many of whom feel forgotten, especially this time of year.. Our overarching impact as a ministry is to see the one lost person that God puts in front of us each day based on the parable of Jesus going over the one lost sheep in Luke 15.? ? Local Impact, Local Hope??? Our Local Hope Program focuses on supporting women in Houston, TX, who are coming out of a life of oppression and are in a vulnerable situation and offering them opportunities that provide hope. We do this by offering: 1. Quarterly Empowerment Lunches 2. ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes 3. Artisan Training Programs 4. Second Chance Employment Opportunities 5. Personal and Career Development Mercy House Global uses our quarterly lunches and ESOL classes to identify vulnerable women who would benefit from job and skills training. This program allows the women to obtain the necessary skills needed to hold a job in the USA, while also focusing on their personal growth and development. ? The skills are taught using faith-based lessons, and the women are paid a fair and livable wage for the products they make. The items are sold in the MercyHouse Global Marketplace and MHG Clubs to help continue the cycle of empowerment.

Maureen said: "Beautiful baby Blessing Nanyori (which means "special and unique") is here with us! Yay! To God be the glory. Both mama and baby are doing okay." ?? ? We are thanking God for this miracle of life and a safe delivery. Please join us in praying for the new mama and her new bundle of joy over the weekend??
