Mercy For Animals believes that a humane society is possible. We are committed to reducing the greatest amount of suffering for the largest number of animals. Our efforts focus on protecting farmed animals—the most abused and exploited animals on the planet—and utilize a broad range of strategic approaches that seek to expose cruelty, prosecute abusers, and inspire consumers to make compassionate food choices. We are on the frontlines fighting to protect farmed animals. This newly born male calf lies in a wheelbarrow at a dairy farm, still damp from a brief moment with his mother, who cleaned him before they were separated forever. ?? The farm has transferred him to a calf hutch where they will provide him with his first milk. The calf will then stay in the calf hutch, also known as an "igloo," for a few weeks before being sold for fattening and eventually sent to slaughter. Methods like these are standard in factory farms across the country right now.
