"It is not common for women to set up businesses. In our community, Armenian women my age are expected to get married and care for their homes and families." says Veronika, a young Armenian woman living in the Samtskhe-Javakheti region in Georgia, who grew her bakery business after being awarded a micro-grant from Enterprise Georgia. Due to work of the Rural Small and Medium Enterprises Development Project (RSMEDP) in Georgia, the micro-grant program has been able to effectively target ethnic- and linguistic-minority micro-enterprises, giving them an opportunity to develop and grow their business ideas and make a decent living for themselves and their families. "Over 15 years-Mercy Corps Ethiopia developed an Islamic finance ecosystem to address not only access to financial services (proximity, affordability, and convenience) but also impact (uptake, usage, and quality)". ? We recently shared how LIWAY a project focused on women and youth employment in Ethiopia, collaborated with a digital platform to sustainably connect gig workers to customers. ?????? ???????? ???????? ???????? ???????????????? ???????? ?????? ?????????????????????? The story of ??????????, a young woman from Ethiopia who found work because of the gig platform, showcases the core of this intervention: the jobs were there, and people were searching for jobs, but the two were not effectively connected. #InterventionSpotlight
