Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. (MBUSI) is the production location for the GLE-, GLS-, GLE Coupe, EQS-, EQE-, and the Mercedes-Maybach GLE and EQS Sport Utility Vehicles. Our plant has built more than 4 million vehicles in its nearly 30 years of production in the State of Alabama. In September 2017, Mercedes-Benz Cars announced plans to expand its production footprint in Alabama and the United States with a $1 billion investment for our second campus. The expansion included construction of a new battery plant to prepare the plant to build electric vehicles at the beginning of the next decade. MBUSI currently employs more than 6,100 Team Members.

On November 8th, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Federico Kochlowski, joined the City of Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox in the opening of a new fire station that will help serve MBUSI plants and the surrounding communities. “This new fire station, and the increased public safety that comes with it, is a testament to what can be achieved for our community when we work together,” Mayor Walt Maddox said. “This wouldn’t have been possible without the partnership between the amazing team we have at the City, the State of Alabama, and MBUSI.
