My advice today on #internationaldayofthegirl and every day- invest in yourself and continue to be a lifelong learner. Doing this brought me further than I could have imagined as this fourth-grader. Here’s what I told a group at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University about how this impacts my work as a Federal Reserve president: "Be voraciously curious. This is useful for younger people, too—if?you're doing anything, just be voraciously curious. When I'm looking to hire people, I look for curiosity. Now, you need to take a decision. I want people to be confident in that decision. But then, immediately upon taking it, I want a certain amount of humility to say, what did I miss? How do I get curious again? I have a sticker that says, “be curious, be confident, be humble.” And that, actually, is the way that I think the framework review will go and all of my colleagues share. But the most important thing is that we all share that mindset of, we've got to be curious. We've got to be confident that we've looked at everything, but we also have to be humble enough to ask, again, is this the right thing to do?
