?? This month, we are celebrating #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth. ?? Mentoring is a powerful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people, but it involves being truly mindful of the unique journeys that each mentee undertakes and recognizing how their heritage and global contexts shape their experiences. By understanding these factors, we can create meaningful and culturally sensitive connections that foster growth and empowerment. ?? So appreciative of program evaluation technical assistance services from Lloyd Goldsamt (NYU) and John Harris (via MENTOR / MENTOR Virginia) since 2021 to support ROAD RECOVERY FOUNDATION #TraxProgram in a state-federal program partnership supported by NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports & U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs (OJP) / OJJDP!
???? When Music + Science Help At-Risk Youth ???? Since 2021, Road Recovery has received technical assistance from New York University and Applied Research Consulting via MENTOR Virginia / MENTOR to develop surveying and evaluation of our Trax Program at NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports Youth Clubhouses. Surveys and interviews of program staff and participants, as well as direct observations by a team of external evaluators, have shown strong preliminary impacts that we're still evaluating through our new Trax Program App. Stay tuned to learn about the results of this evaluation and how you can implement some of what we've learned when conversing with your own children, students, or youth outreach. The report titled ‘Trax Program Evaluation Design & Initial Findings 2021-2024’ is now publicly available at https://lnkd.in/eJtGCrkH

Today, we take a moment to honor and express our deepest gratitude to all those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. We also recognize the sacrifices made by them and their families and the unique challenges faced by military youth, who often deal with frequent relocations and separations. Mentoring can play a crucial role in providing these young people with the support and stability they need during transitions.
