Please share widely. If anyone wants to participate in a group for the next 9 weeks, (taking a break for holidays), please send me your best contact information and I will reach out to schedule a 20-30 minute consultation. This will help define your availability for once a week.

I help corporate teams improve productivity and promote mental wellbeing in work place cultures.
关于我们
I help corporate teams convert work culture from division into diversity, from underperformance to outperformance, and from confusion to clearer communication. Melissa has had a wide variety of training in the corporate sectors, related to mental health psychoeducational integrations and best practices. As a licensed Marriage and Family therapist in private practice, she has worked within industries to create opportunities for better communication so that systems function more smoothly, reducing conflict and channeling anxiety into direct actions that service the whole. A recent Fellowship at Morehouse School of Medicine in the Satcher Health Leadership Institute opened her learning into exploring both corporate and faith-based initiatives in response to histories of disparities towards more inclusive communities where "health means wealth" in equitable ways. Additionally, a three year Post-doctoral Ford Foundation Difficult Dialogue initiative with Emory University's "Transforming Community Project" was an eye-opening effort towards building community, overcoming barriers and access. Melissa brings her theological and psychological training into conversations of history, mindset shifts, and leadership emergent strategies where people come together in a unique storytelling platform, carefully constructed to promote authentic encounters which problem-solve by appealing to human dignity and is compassionate and empathetic. Her neuroscience-literature dissertation, "Playing, Beyond the Fields of Trauma," undergirds her current work in corporate and institutional spaces, where engaged listening and learning facilitate change. From this same agenda, she has recently published "Transformation and Change: Radically Change Your Life in Twelve Week" which can be purchased on Amazon and is a post-pandemic appeal towards shifting mindsets and improving mental health.

Interesting read, even though it was written in 2018, before social distancing in elevators was a thing. :) Not sure I will ever unsee those footprints and directions so that we contain a virus in small spaces. Anyway, Id/Ego/Super-ego was a personality structuring Freud offered to understand how humans mitigate impulses with higher rules for societal norms that basically delay gratification. Ego in itself is that mid-level negotiator that regulates how implenting goals can happen in light of desires. Ego strength is a good thing usually. Where it can run amok (and closer to the authors’ points) is when narcissism blinds one to pursue a false love of self alone. Leadership, in short, IS about interaction and implementation and collaborative work that values everyones’ input, talents, effort. That’s when it REALLY gets fun. Nice to read everyone’s comments, too!
An unchecked ego can warp your perspective and twist your values. It’s possible to break free.
