DID YOU KNOW? 1 in 8 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. In 2024, an estimated 310,720 women and 2,800 men will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. Last week, Mental Health Cooperative associates wore pink to bring awareness about breast cancer and encourage both consumers and the entire community to schedule their annual mammograms. Early detection is key! Way to go Team MHC!

Today is World Mental Health Day. Celebrated annually on October 10 across the globe, the day aims to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health. There are many ways to acknowledge the day such as 1) Checking in with yourself and practicing self-care; 2) Sharing resources with your networks such as enrolling in behavioral health services at MHC by calling (615) 743-1555; 3) Volunteering for activities like serving at a local shelter or organizing donation drives. It is okay to ask for help. We will get through it together.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. DID YOU KNOW? 1 out of every 8 women in Tennessee will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. Black and white women are diagnosed with breast cancer at similar rates, but black women are more likely to die from the disease. Early detection is key. Today's Monday Motivational Moment is from actress and singer Kylie Minogue, "The experience of a cancer diagnosis will live in me. It was difficult. It was also amazing. Amazing in that you are very aware of your body, of the love that’s around you, of your capability, all sorts of things.” If applicable, schedule your annual exam today. Today’s Friday ROCKSTARS are the ladies and gentlemen of Alpha Delta Pi and Sigma Chi at Austin Peay State University who gathered together this week to raise awareness about suicide. As part of their Suicide Prevention Month Walk, the students also listened to a presentation by one of our incredible staff members, Michael Randolph! Way to go Alpha Delta Pi and Sigma Chi!
