MEMX went live for trading equities in 2020 and chief executive Jonathan Kellner said tech innovation has been a guiding factor in the first half-decade. The exchange operator built its MEMX MAP technology for in-house use, but also made it scalable, multi-asset class and deliverable to others. In 2024, increased retail participation contributed to industry growth?in several areas, including off-exchange equity trading, sub-$1 stock activity, off-hours activity, and short-dated options trading.
