How do you know your AI is right? Below is a set of experiments we did last week for one of our KPI predictions. Each column is the accuracy of a new experiment (adding/replacing variables, changing model characteristics, etc). The red column is the baseline model we were using for that KPI. The one on the far right is the one we're adopting after these tests. Supervised machine-learning models are beautifully empirical: 1?? Take data that you can assume represents your universe (e.g. your historical ads) 2?? Use 80% of the history for training your models 3?? Leave 20% of the data unseen by the models during training, so you can use it to test how wrong they are with "new" observations Results on that 20% test sample are a proxy for how often you'll be wrong in the future. If you know how survey estimations are derived, you'll see how this is way less reliant on assumptions :) #artificialintelligence #marketingandadvertising #ai
