Every day, we’ll introduce you to a new team member, sharing a fun fact and their heart for service! Today, meet one of the members of our Operations Team, Mia Rodriguez (she/her/hers)! Mia is a motivated professional dedicated to providing resources to under-served communities. As a recipient of the Carol Bryce Carey Award of Excellence and the George Henderson Outstanding Service Award at the University of Oklahoma, a nominee for Boys & Girls Club of America's Youth Development Professional of the Year, a former member of OK Serves Americorps, and a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, Mia has shown leadership and understanding of positive relationship building and communication to be able to lift up those in crisis. Every day, we’ll introduce you to a new team member, sharing a fun fact and their heart for service! Today, meet our MFF Marketing and Community Engagement Manager, Mahogany Bowens! Mahogany is an MBA graduate from the University of Dallas with a passion for storytelling, strategy, and service. As the Marketing and Community Engagement Manager at MFF, she leads key initiatives, including creating newsletters, managing social media, and helping develop new programs that uplift and empower scholars. Outside of MFF, Mahogany stays engaged in the community as a member of The Cary Council, continues her work as a team member at Meraki, and cherishes spending time with family and friends. She loves using her creativity and connections to make a meaningful impact. To celebrate her birthday, she gathered loved ones at the North Texas Food Bank to pack an incredible 37,661 meals for neighbors facing hunger. As CEO of the Melville Family Foundation and an NTFB Board Member, she continues to lead with purpose, ensuring no family goes hungry. Myles is the youngest of the three Melville sons whom all interact with The Melville Family Foundation operations and or opportunities. He is also a graduate from Northeastern University with a background in corporate sales. With the support of the MFF Operations team, Myles’ spearheads strategic partnerships with Uplift scholars and other community partners. Myles states, “The focus for opportunities resides in our mission statement servicing underserved communities.” Most importantly Myles is a father and a husband who is rooted in serving his family first. Randy?is a seasoned business leader and dedicated philanthropist. Following a distinguished 25-year career as a senior executive at PepsiCo, Randy retired in 2018, leaving a legacy of strategic growth and leadership excellence. Randy’s dedication to service extends beyond MFF. He is a board member for Northwestern Mutual, Saia, Inc., and GMS, Inc., where his strategic expertise supports corporate governance and growth. Additionally, he serves on the board of Grace Church, reflecting his commitment to faith and community. When asked why he loves to serve, he stated, “I love to serve because it gives me a sense of fulfillment and purpose. I truly ?receive more than I give.” Fun fact about our Chairman, “I have flat feet.” ?? Melville M.Div., Psy.D., D.Min. ?Dr. Melville holds dual doctorates in Psychology and Divinity and serves as Chair of the Uplift Education Trustee Board, overseeing a school system that impacts over 23,000 students. Dr. Melville is a dedicated community leader, actively serving on the boards of The Dallas Foundation, the North Texas Food Bank (where she chairs the Governance Committee), and UT Southwestern Medical Center (as a member of the Marketing Committee). Her prior board service includes the advisory boards for UT Southwestern (2018–2024) and the SMU Perkins School of Theology (2021–2024). When asked why she loves to serve, she stated, “Serving is both a calling and a privilege. I believe that true leadership is measured not by what we accumulate but by the lives we get to impact. Through service, we create opportunities, restore hope, and build stronger communities.
