In recognition of #NationalProstateCancerAwarenessMonth this September, members of the Tufts Medicine MelroseWakefield Hospital community raised nearly $4,000 for prostate cancer education, testing, patient support, research and advocacy at the ZERO Prostate Cancer Walk/Run Boston. Our very own Urologist Dr. Tony Luongo (pictured), has spent the last two years involved in this event and formed the Tufts Medicine Urology Team, with over 40 participants! A huge thank you to Dr. Luongo and all of our staff members for their continued compassion and philanthropy.

This past weekend in partnership with The Greater Boston Food Bank our dedicated mobile food market volunteers filled bags of food for safe delivery to 650 families in the MelroseWakefield Hospital service area. With increased need throughout the region, the mobile food market has continued to find safe and innovative ways to help feed those most vulnerable.

Exciting news from the MelroseWakefield Hospital Cardiovascular Center. We recently completed an important milestone by using a drug-coated balloon to treat a patient with coronary artery disease. Dr. Laurence Conway, Chief of Cardiology, performed the procedure in the cath lab.
