Proud and honored to be apart of such a great project. Thank you to the entire Torcon team for the opportunity.
The New Valley Hospital is one of the most ambitious projects Torcon has completed in our nearly 60-year history. With COVID impacts to supply chain and managing 650+ workers and 50+ subcontractors on site at any given time, the project was not without adversity. However, through teamwork, trust, and commitment to common goals, we worked together to successfully deliver this complex, multi-faceted project that is setting a new standard in healthcare in the region. We were proud to partner with our long-term client Valley Health System and designer HDR on this transformational project and are pleased to share our story. #healthcarebuilders #valleyhealthsystem #torcon #valleyinparamus

?? Bridging the Gap: How NASA's Innovation Fuels Telecommunications Revolution! ?? Ever wonder how NASA's groundbreaking technology finds its way into our daily lives? ?? Look no further than the remarkable synergy between NASA's fiber-optic health monitoring system and everyday telecommunications infrastructure! ????? Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM), a cornerstone of modern telecommunications, owes its roots to the pioneering work at NASA. ?? Originally designed to ensure the integrity of critical systems in space, such as spacecraft health monitoring, this technology now powers the backbone of our internet and communication networks. ??? By splitting light into different wavelengths and transmitting data simultaneously along a single optical fiber, WDM enables unprecedented data transfer rates and bandwidth efficiency. ???? This not only enhances our everyday connectivity but also underpins the foundation of our digital age. As we marvel at the seamless communication experiences of today, let's acknowledge the unsung heroes of innovation, from the vast expanse of space to the palm of our hands. ???? #NASA #IBEW #MEHLCelecommunications #FiberTechnicians #SpaceTech #InterstellarAreaNetwork
Reusable rockets have the potential to make spaceflight more reliable and cost-effective. NASA’s Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC) is working on a compact, fiber-optic health monitoring system that could help these vehicles fly more frequently. The Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM)-based interrogation system uses a tunable laser with no moving parts and can be packaged inside the 6-inch diameter limit of a small reusable rocket. The device, which is approaching flight demonstration readiness, combines low size, weight, and power requirements with a high channel count, and could replace commercial, off-the-shelf WDM systems for reusable rocket health monitoring. Read more about the project, its key partners, and its NASA centers on our TechPort database at https://lnkd.in/eA9hyF-g.
