At Emme, 2025's arrival has brought up an array of feelings. Though some advocated for skipping the year entirely, certain newsletter writers received the ideal tarot reading for the year, and are now convinced that 2025 is “their year.”? (I mean, it's also the 25 year anniversary of the release of Bring it On. It's cosmic.) ? But, if you’re more in the fast-forward to 2026 camp, you might have luck with our (new) new year strategy. ? We’ve decided to designate January a free trial month. What exactly does that mean though? ? Let’s say you came into this year with all sorts of ideas of how this it was going to go. You were going to be a model employee, a marathon runner, read a thousand books, and DIY your whole house. ? And now, you’re a little over halfway into January, and some of that stuff is starting to seem a little unrealistic. (Or doesn’t align with what your values, or is actually really boring, or takes time away from rewatching Gilmore Girls, etc.)? ? So, you had a goal, you tried it, and you hated it. But, you’re not stuck with it.? ? That’s the beauty of free trial January.? ? The first month of the year is all about giving your ideas a fair shot.?Troubleshoot them and see if they match up with your real life.? ? Then, maybe by the time February (or March, no judgement!) rolls around, we’ll be working toward things that actually make us feel good and are actually achievable! ?
