Lauren Medina Collens (she/her/hers), MPA, GPC, is the visionary driving the success of Medina Nonprofit Solutions, LLC. This innovative entity serves as a valuable resource for nonprofits, providing comprehensive support in grant research, composition, and oversight, alongside expertise in program development, quality assurance, and quality improvement projects. She has more than 15 years of experience in the grants and human services sectors. This work includes roles at nonprofits specializing in youth services, educational equity, and health related services as well as time in state government roles. Some of these experiences included services related to: youth mental health; housing & financial assistance; trauma informed care; case management; HIV/AIDS, HCV and STI prevention and care services; NYS Medicaid Health Homes; COVID-19 prevention and testing; transportation; health equity; criminal justice initiatives; and K-12 education. All of her work has focused on ensuring equity in services and resources for communities. We provide support with grant prospecting, grant writing, grant management, and quality assurance/improvement. We are delighted to share that today, Pivotal Ventures, a Melinda French Gates organization, launched Action for Women’s Health, a $250 million global open call that will fund organizations around the world improving women’s mental and physical health. Registration is now OPEN! Action for Women’s Health will support an array of organizations—of diverse geographies, sizes, perspectives, and approaches—united by their work to improve the mental and physical health of women. Awardee organizations will each receive flexible funding between $1 million and $5 million (USD) by the end of 2025. Interested organizations must register to apply by 4 p.m. U.S. Central Time on December 3, 2024 and submit an application by 4 p.m. U.S. Central Time on January 10, 2025.
