Meet the dogs available for adoption: - Canyon (Shepherd Mix) - 70 lbs Affectionate, playful, and great with other dogs. Canyon, 3 years old, is neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. - Tia (Beagle Mix) - 30 lbs Sweet and active, Tia, 2 years old, prefers to be the only pet. Spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. - Robocop (Labrador Mix) - 60 lbs Fun-loving and athletic, Robocop, 2 years old, is great with people but prefers to be the only pet. Neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. - Bernard (German Shepherd & Australian Shepherd Mix) - 53 lbs Friendly, playful, and good with people. Bernard, 2 years old, prefers a home without cats. Neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. - Ryan (Husky & German Shepherd Mix) - 51 lbs Sweet, playful, and good with kids and other dogs. Ryan, 2 years old, loves fetch and cuddles. Neutered, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. - Wallace (Labrador & Golden Retriever Mix) - 70 lbs Loving and goofy, Wallace is great for an active home and prefers to be the only pet. The Science Behind Our Training At Medical Mutts, all our medical alert dogs are scent trained using our proprietary methods! These incredible dogs learn to detect changes in a person’s body chemistry—alerting to drops or spikes in blood sugar, impending seizures, anxiety episodes, migraines, and even syncope. In these photos, Clara, a 1.5-year-old Lab mix rescued from Young-Williams Animal Shelter, is hard at work! She’s presented with multiple scent samples and must freeze over the one containing the "event" scent. This process is key to ensuring our dogs can reliably detect medical episodes before they happen. Our dogs have even helped prove that seizures have a scent in a peer-reviewed study published in Scientific Reports!
