Lights in the Shadows is about two superheroes providing outreach to the unhoused community in San Jose. It was filmed by nine participants during our week-long MediaStorm Storytelling Workshop in the summer of 2024 and resulted in over 12TB of footage. Documenting Dual Eligibility, a project by Isadora Kosofsky, CatchLight, and MediaStorm, and made possible by Arnold Ventures, has been recognized by the The Anthem Awards. The project, which tells the story of two women who are navigating America’s tangled healthcare safety net, has been selected as a Gold Anthem Winner in the Health Partnership or Collaboration / Community Engagement category.

The 3-day training gives participants a chance to look inside the workings of a successful film and interactive production company, while taking them step-by-step through both the creative and business aspects of digital storytelling. Founder Brian Storm will share MediaStorm’s workflow and storytelling methods and discuss essential elements of project organization and storytelling concepts. Our goal is to teach and inspire others to improve on MediaStorm’s model and approach, and to foster a growing family of storytellers that will continue collaborating with one another and moving the business forward for years to come.
