关于我们
"Adelante. Since 1973." We envision generations of Latino families choosing where to call home, thriving economically, succeeding in learning opportunities, and leading policy and social change toward a more equitable society. Our work focuses on equity via affordable housing, jobs, small business development, a CDFI loan fund, financial coaching, free tax preparation, a Promise Neighborhood community anti-poverty education initiative ... and much more.

NeighborWorks America has just released a series of case studies highlighting organizations across the country working on “fostering stronger, more equitable communities through resident-driven, place-based strategies.” ?? Read case study (page 20): https://lnkd.in/grSsTZxg Mission Economic Development Agency and Mission Promise Neighborhood are grateful to NeighborWorks for supporting our work and developing this case study, which will be shared nationally to benefit the field. MPN’s case study is showcasing the work of the Community Report Card and is titled “Community-Led Solutions Aim to Measure Systemic Barriers.” The Community Report Card design team, composed of parents, youth, and staff, worked together for three years to develop a process and a tool that has achieved the following results: - Advocacy for resident-led design has led to the development of a better way to understand and respond to community experiences. - By valuing and nurturing safe spaces for sharing information, MPN’s design team fostered the trust that allowed community members to engage. - The app development prioritized accessibility and transparency, facilitating community healing and strengthening support networks. Liz Cortez, Vice President of Collective Impact at MEDA, said, "the process of building deep relationships and partnering with community members for three years was transformational. I’m excited to see how the data we collect helps to drive a policy agenda to change the systems that are not working for families.” We would like to thank the parents, youth, and staff who invested so much in the Community Report Card. “These murals are for you and the residents and the staff to find a moment to rest, reflect, find some peace, and really dive into and discover your own power.” -- Lorraine Garcia-Nakata A few weeks ago, we had the privilege of unveiling Make Things New, a stunning mural series by celebrated artist Lorraine García-Nakata at Casa Adelante - 2828 16th Street, one of our 100% affordable housing developments in partnership with TNDC. Spanning 4,000 square feet, the eight 20-foot-high murals celebrate the rich legacy of San Francisco’s diverse communities and include meaningful connections with Casa Adelante residents. Nayeli Bustamante owns and operates Flor de Oaxaca, an Oaxacan imports specialty flower shop - something she has always dreamt of accomplishing. She was able to open the doors to her shop from the help of MEDA's small business workshops and the financial assistance she received from our CDFI, Fondo Adelante. The San Francisco Business Times article - 'MEDA builds prosperity, economic empowerment in the Bay Area,' shares and showcases how our programs have been able to expand economic opportunity and preserve San Francisco’s historically Latino Mission District. As a revolutionary civil rights champion, Reverend Townsend never hesitated to stand for justice. His strength, wisdom, and courage did not just make a lasting impact on our city, but the nation. We, as the Mission Economic Development Agency, are devastated by the heartbreaking news of Reverend Arnold Townsend’s passing. Our organization was fortunate enough to develop a strong relationship with Reverend Townsend over the last eight years – we knew him to be a dedicated and proud father; steadfast veteran; staunch advocate; and a pillar of the Fillmore District community. The Reverend was an icon of the district who led with genuine love, and who created space for arts, music and other avenues of cultural expression.
