Throwback Thursday! Adaptive reuse projects are always neat and MoJud Lofts is one of the coolest examples of this type of project we've been a part of. The mill, originally built in 1926, was home to Mock, Judson, Voehringer Company, a hosiery company with a niche in silk stockings. In 1944 their company grew and operated four mills across the U.S. This location thrived and brought a lot to the city of Greensboro employing 2,000 people in the 1950s. The company was acquired by Kayser-Roth in the late 1950s, and in 1972, the company closed its doors. This building, while vacant, was added to the National Register of Historic Places. CT Wilson Construction Company, Inc. was the GC on the renovation of this building into the MoJud Lofts that it is today. With a total budget of $41,854,218, it has become one of the most sought after places to live in Greensboro, NC. Check out some photos of the building from its previous life and of the finished product, including the YORK Residential and Light Commercial HVAC units on the rooftop!
