We have been in the game for a long time. Since little boys, we were taught the traditional ways of cooking and the value of a shared meal from our huge diverse family. Being sons of immigrants, we also learned the importance of sacrifice, hard work and grace. All values that have helped shape Mecha Noodle Bar today. Over the past few years, Mecha has grown to several locations across the Northeast and will continue to expand so that we can tell a story of love through color. That love comes from our food, helping nonprofits in underprivileged communities, and building good humans within our company.

Will have more content soon about Mecha Noodle Bar, one of our 2024 Hot Concepts. But I wanted to call out the story about how founders TONY M PHAM and Richard Reyes met. Both sons of immigrants, Tony and Rich met when they were in the second grade. They were attending a birthday party for Tony's cousin, in a Vietnamese house where nobody spoke English or Spanish and Rich felt like a fish out of water. But there was something familiar there: good food. Specifically fried quail. Tony discovered Rich chowing down on the fried quail and struck up a conversation. So began a lifelong bond that now includes co-ownership of the 10-unit Mecha (where, alas, there is no fried quail on the menu). Gotta love the power of food! A sneak peek at the next RestauraTOUR: Thrilled to check out the newest location of Mecha Noodle Bar which opened in Columbus’s Short North district in April. This is the ninth location for the Connecticut-based concept, which was founded by life-long friends Richard Reyes and TONY M PHAM in 2013. Two-by-fours hang from the ceiling like noodles in this former White Castle space. The menu features a range of bao, pho, ramen, rolls, and other munchies, plus boba and other tasty beverages.
