Thank YOU to those who donated today, Give To The Max Day!?I hope your donation will help the clinic win some of the prices! I know most of you do not work and are on extremely limited income.?You still donated to support our mission.?No matter how much you gave, it means A LOT to me. Now that more and more healthcare providers and professionals have begun to recognize ME/CFS, or feel comfortable diagnosing and treating the disease, in 2025, MECFS Clinic MN will continue to empower doctors and providers to treat the disease, especially in states we do not have medical licenses.?Because Connecticut and Ohio have not been fully utilizing our resources, after May 2025 and December 2025 we will not renew the medical licenses of Connecticut and Ohio respectively.?Four affected patients were contacted, and have not reached back out to me to indicate their ongoing need of the clinic. The Perrin Technique is in great demand, but does not have enough practitioners trained to take more patients.?We also need more PT and OT to join us, so patients can use their insurance for treatments.?We will continue to fill this gap in 2025, and plan to recruit more learners of the technqiue to our training in October 2026.?Dr. Tam will also start a two-year Perrin Advanced Practitioner class in January 2025, so we can train practitioners more frequently moving forward.?There is a chance that we may expand to provide free Perrin Technique in St. Paul, Minn, starting some time in 2025.?More will come. Lastly, your donations will be used to support our social services initiatives.?It feels like a long campaign for our sick patients needing help for food prep.?We are not giving up and will continue to work on that. I am encouraged, grateful and blown away by all your support and love of this clinic.?Thank you!?May you be blessed abundantly with peace, joy, love and health in 2025! #volunteersmakeadifference #GTMD24 #longcovid #MECFS #freeclinic

Our army of volunteers is growing!?Let me introduce you to one of our new Perrin practitioners, as well as our occupational therapist, Lisa Neitge!?Compassionate and thoughtful, Lisa was instrumental to the success of our Minneapolis Perrin training course.?We are extremely lucky to have her on board.?Please help me give Lisa a warm welcome! “As an occupational therapist of thirty years, I truly enjoy being a partner with people as they move through unexpected life changes and managing long term conditions. I like empowering people to get back to the real layers of life through pacing and self-treatment routines.?I seek to find solutions to every day problems that work for the individual and the world around them. I will often incorporate mind/body techniques into my practice, such as yoga, Pilates, mindfulness, myofascial release and lymphatic massage. Being a part of the MN Free ME/CFS clinic is important to me, as so many of people affected by ME/CFS and long COVID are taken out of their employment and our communities for months and years of time. These people can easily experience financial insecurity, can have limited to no options for health care and often feel lost between providers in their care. Volunteering with Dr. Tam’s clinic helps us serve this often unseen population in many ways. It also provides a network for me to keep learning and growing as a therapist.” #longcovid #MECFS #freeclinic #Volunteering #occupationaltherapist

This is music to my ears if Medicare can cover in-home care for seniors and people with disabilities.?This gap is what our Food Insecurity Initiative tries to fill. Please understand that MECFS Clinic MN does not endorse any politicians, but encourages everyone to advocate for policies that favor our communities.?A proposal like this coming out from a presidential candidate will trigger more conversation in the country.?Hopefully, we will see a wave of reform and more politicians to follow suit!? The insurance of some ME and Long COVID patients switched to Medicare after they are granted disability benefits which is barely enough to EITHER pay rent or buy food.?Sadly, they lose all in-home services, free medical rides, food stamps, etc under Medicare.?We need CHANGE!?We fight for CHANGE! #MECFS #LongCOVID #foodinsecurity #freeclinic #medicare #inhomecare #KamalaHarris

Olympia, Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau and Minneapolis proudly hosted Dr. Raymond Perrin for his five-lecture series on #ThePerrinTechnique this past three weeks, training 69 practitioners across the world: Australia, Canada (British Columbia), Alaska, Washington, Minnesota, Colorado, Utah, California, Oregon, New York, Iowa, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Arizona!?Can you believe that??I still cannot.?You can find the latest practitioners at the link.?Please note that not all of the September practitioners are uploaded yet.?Just type your zip code and click search. Keep checking back for the latest practitioner information.?https://lnkd.in/g_P5nijE As promised, you can find Dr. Perrin’s answers to all the questions you have submitted below. Questions from patients: 1. As we start to get better [from doing the Perrin Technique], should we ever feel like we can trust our bodies again, or should we always be on guard? If we can trust, when should that start to happen, and how do we build it? Dr. Perrin’s answer: Half of more is still too much [about pacing.?If you feel good and think you can do more, do half of that].?The half rule holds true until you get to 100%. A study that showed that 15% of people doing the Perrin Technique will get to 100% better vs one study in Norway found that only 2% of people go to remission using other methods. 2. With our mental struggles, both brain fog and memory issues, as we heal, the brain fog goes away, but how does the memory heal? Do we regain lost memories, or are we just able to retain them again from the present onward? Dr. Perrin’s answer: Yes, because the treatment works on the prefrontal part of the brain, e.g. the emotion side.?Concentration and memory will get better. Ginkgo stimulates the brain to work better, but it can also stimulate serotonin production, so be careful with people taking antidepressants involving serotonin. 3. What are your thoughts on NAC (N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine)? Dr. Perrin’s answer: NAC helps in the methylation cycle. It helps in many parts of the body in many pathways.?Be aware that some people may find one supplement helpful and others don’t. 4. Why do so many benefit from IV saline infusions? I’m curious if it’s for anything beyond orthostatic intolerance. Dr. Perrin’s answer: Hydration is important.?Just drinking water is not sufficient.?Salt is important. That is why IV saline works more effectively.?Also patients may not have enough awake time to drink or not feel thirsty due to the brain malfunction.? For the rest of the 37 questions and answers, please refer to the clinic’s Facebook page due to character limitations of LinkedIn.
