Our dining sites need kitchen volunteers to help prep and cook scratch-made meals for our older neighbors. With more and more community members relying on us, we need extra hands to keep the meals coming. It’s more than just time in the kitchen — it’s sharing stories, building friendships, and making sure no one eats alone. Ready to roll up your sleeves and make a difference? Sign up at mowp.org/volunteer today!
关于我们
CHANGING LIVES, ONE MEAL AT A TIME. https://www.mowp.org/ HOW WE'VE GROWN Meals on Wheels People produces 5,000 nutritious meals every weekday in a 14,000-square-foot commercial kitchen in the heart of Multnomah Village. Meals are delivered to dozens of dining centers throughout Multnomah, Washington and Clark counties where they are served at noon to older adults in the dining rooms or sent out as Meals on Wheels to homebound seniors. VOLUNTEERS MAKE IT HAPPEN Volunteers are the heart and soul of Meals on Wheels People and we depend on more than 400 people every day to help prepare and deliver meals. The volunteer with a friendly smile and nutritious meal is often the only person some of our homebound seniors will see on an average day. MAKING MEALS AVAILABLE Meals on Wheels People meals are available to anyone over the age of 60. Each meal costs $10.50 and seniors are encouraged to donate what they can afford. Weekend and Holiday meals are provided to those who have no other source of food or support.

No one should have to choose between food and other basic needs. Yet, for many older adults, this is a daily reality. 1 in 2 older adults struggle to afford the essentials necessary to live independently and thrive. Meals on Wheels People removes the burden of food insecurity, ensuring our older neighbors receive the nourishment they deserve. Thanks to supporters like you, we’re making a real difference. Your generosity has a lasting impact on the lives of older adults in our community. Donate today at mowp.org to help us continue providing the care and resources that matter most.

The women of Meals on Wheels People make an incredible impact every day. From the kitchen to delivery routes to the heart of our organization, women are an essential part of our workforce and play a key role in our volunteer team. Their dedication ensures that older adults in our community stay nourished and connected. And just as vital as the women who help us operate are the women we serve. Nearly 60% of our participants are women — women who have spent lifetimes caring for others and deserve to be cared for in return. Today, on #InternationalWomensDay, we celebrate the women of MOWP: those who give, those who serve, and those we support. Because when women uplift each other, our whole community thrives.

Where you live shouldn’t determine if you eat. In remote areas, distance often limits access to basic needs. We’re delivering nutritious meals and human connection to make sure none of our older neighbors are left behind. Help us close the gap by donating today at mowp.org.

Every day we get older — even if we don’t always want to think about it. 1 in 4 Americans is 60+, and 12,000 more turn 60 every day. Seniors are at a greater risk of malnutrition and food insecurity, but with the right support, they don’t have to face it alone. One day, any of us could find ourselves in need. Let’s make sure every senior receives the dignity, connection, and support they deserve. Donate today: https://bit.ly/3Eg2Yxn

Care should be accessible to everyone. Did you know 29% of older Americans live with a disability, making it harder to access essential services? At Meals on Wheels People, we’re committed to removing those barriers so the folks we serve can live independently, safely, and with dignity. Together, we’re building a more inclusive community. Help us make a difference — donate today at mowp.org.

Big thanks to Congresswoman Maxine Dexter for joining us on a delivery route today! It was an honor to introduce her to some of the incredible older adults we serve and share how access to nutritious food and social connection improves health and well-being. We appreciate her commitment to addressing food insecurity and strengthening our community!

??DELIVERY AND IN-PERSON LUNCHES CANCELED 2/13?? Due to inclement weather, meal deliveries and center lunches have been canceled to ensure the safety of our staff and volunteers. Our team will be making safety calls to check in on those who may need extra support. Please take care, stay warm, and check on older neighbors if you can. Stay safe out there!

Hunger and isolation don’t discriminate. Last year, we served 11,402 individuals, 24% of whom are people of color. Food insecurity disproportionately affects older adults of color, and we’re committed to breaking down barriers to ensure all those in need have access to the support they deserve. Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected community. Help us make an even bigger impact. Donate today at mowp.org.
