We are at Center of Anna Maria Island distributing cleaning supplies and nonperishable food items today! The Center is open until 7pm tonight. We hope that you’re making plans to join the 1905 Family of Restaurants during their 27th Annual Community Harvest event happening in September! After you enjoy a scrumptious meal at any one of the six Columbia Restaurants, Cha Cha Coconuts, Ulele, Goody Goody Burgers, or Casa Santo Stefano, you’ll have an opportunity to choose Meals on Wheels PLUS on the ballot at your table. When you do that, The Gonzmart Family Foundation will generously donate 5% of the total food and beverage amount to us. Your lunch or dinner will provide a donation for someone who needs assistance to have something to eat, too. The Food Bank of Manatee, a PLUS Program of Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee provides food to over 100 pantries around Manatee County.

Because of the Wilson-Wood Foundation and their generous grant to our Daybreak Adult Day Center, a PLUS Program of Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee, our clients enjoy playing different musical instruments from keyboards to guitars! One of our clients hasn’t played a piano in over 50 years but she sat down and joined in an impromptu jam session that was lively and fun. A special room has been set up with instruments and is available to our clients whenever their musical mood sets in. This same generous grant also provides Daybreak clients with unlimited opportunities to be involved with arts and crafts, jewelry making, and other artistic opportunities using different art mediums. We love to see our clients engaged and having fun and we’re grateful for the Wilson-Wood Foundation and their continued support!

The Food Bank of Manatee-Meals on Wheels PLUS staff were excited to be on hand at the 3 Millionth Meal Celebration with the School District of Manatee County on Monday, July 22nd.?In celebration of their 3 Millionth Summer Meal being served district officials, staff, and guests celebrated as students at Samoset Elementary Summer program ate the delicious lunch prepared for them.?Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee has had a great partnership with the School District of Manatee in feeding our community for many, many years!?Congratulations to the Food & Nutrition Services Department and the School District of Manatee County on achieving this remarkable milestone! Our "Cereal-ously Summer" cereal drive is still going strong at Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee. We have donations from people like Lily and her father, Adam, who found good deals on cereal and other non-perishables, and dropped them off at The Food Bank of Manatee. Help our local children this summer by donating cereal. Drop off your non-perishable food items at all Manatee County Goodwill locations, Manatee County Public Library locations, or anywhere you see yellow Food Bank of Manatee donation barrels. Donations can also be dropped off at Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee -- 811 23rd Ave. East, Bradenton, FL 34208, and Daybreak Adult Day Center -- 10920 State Road 70 E, Lakewood Ranch, FL 34202.

This rating designates Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee as an official “Give with Confidence” charity, indicating that our organization is using its donations effectively based on Charity Navigator’s criteria. Charity Navigator is America’s largest and most-utilized independent charity evaluator. Since 2001, the organization has been an unbiased and trusted source of information for more than 11 million donors annually.

Bring 5+ non-perishable items when you dine at The Lazy Lobster of Longboat and both Kacey’s Seafood & More locations, and get $10 in Lobster Loot or Kacey’s Kash for your next visit. Donated food items will benefit Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee and All Faiths Food Bank. Plus, you can enjoy a traditional turkey dinner from 3pm - 8pm.
