Back again, just for fun. Quite calm, and clear.
关于我们
In May 2020, in the midst of global uncertainty, Sara Simmers and Daniel Ackerman knew beyond a doubt this was the opportunity to take a leap and create a business partnership that would allow each of them to serve clients in the way they knew best – with clarity, value, respect, and excellent technical work. The foundation of this company are two biologists doing what they are good at and what they love to do, which involves hard work, quality report and data deliverables, and a working relationship with each of our clients. The business is an outgrowth of this focus. Sara started out on a North Dakota “west river” family farm and ranch, discovering biological field work during summers as a college undergraduate. Over the course of different research projects across the country, she learned the art of identifying plants. When she began consulting in 2007, she realized she could get paid for this skill. As a consultant, her technical writing also came in handy, and soon she was churning out concise biological and environmental review documents while coordinating with multiple federal and state agencies. With 13 years now under her belt, Sara has served federal, state, and private clients throughout the Dakotas, western Minnesota, and eastern Montana. Dan is about as “east river” as they come, spending summers as his father’s handy land survey assistant in the southeast part of North Dakota, where his love for the outdoors began. Dan pursued wildlife biology in college, and his passion for bird watching turned into a graduate project on the long-billed curlew in southwestern ND. After a few years as a wetland scientist at the state, he began consulting in 2010. Dan now boasts a resume that involves project management for hundreds of wetland delineation and mitigation projects across northern Great Plains states and about any type of wildlife or avian field study that may be needed.

Western wallflower is going gangbusters this year (the yellow blooms in the foreground, Erysimum asperum). It’s in the mustard family, which is not typically known for a pleasant smell, but let me tell you, if you see this blooming in the road ditch, find an approach and stop and take a whiff. It’s wonderful. Also making an appearance are field chickweed (white blooms, Cerastium arvense), and purple locoweed (Oxytropis lambertii). Every year is different.
