We could not be more excited to have Aileen Cerchiara, contender for Miss Florida, USA, join us at our Move for MDS Walk in Tampa. ?? Aileen has dedicated her platform to raising awareness for myelodysplastic syndromes and shared with us why this cause is near and dear to her heart. Approximately two years ago, Aileen lost her father to MDS that progressed to AML. She has chosen to take her grief and turn it into action, advocating for awareness and advancements in the field of MDS, and hoping to impact the lives of those affected by this rare disease. Realizing that MDS is often unrecognized and under-diagnosed, and that so much more work needs to be done in this field, Aileen has partnered with The MDS Foundation for resources and support and has become actively engaged in the critical work we do through community events. Aileen will be joining us at the Tampa Move for MDS Walk on April 27 and sharing more about her father’s journey with MDS and her dedication to advocate for advancements in the MDS space.
