Happy Water Quality Month! Thank you to Kentucky Geological Survey for sharing this awesome iceberg visualizer.
Warning: this is really addictive. We've wasted like an hour (ahem, we mean conducted serious science research stuff) doing different shapes and giggling when Kentucky was a prebuilt shape. https://lnkd.in/eTpC6JrP August is National Water Quality Month. Fresh water accounts for ~3% of water on our planet, with much of this being stored in glaciers and icecaps. In #Kentucky, we're more focused on groundwater and surface water, which is present throughout Kentucky's 39,486 square miles. The Water Resources Section at #KGS conducts a variety of hydrogeologic investigations and acts as a scientific-technical resource to assist in groundwater data needs. In addition to researching this necessary and finite resource, KGS manages the Kentucky Groundwater Data Repository, which archives and distributes groundwater data collected by State agencies, independent researchers, universities, and other organizations. #geology #geoscience

We are hosting a Clean Air Mississippi Project (CAMP) public meeting online Thursday, Jan. 18 at 11 a.m. CST. PLEASE JOIN US! During the meeting, MDEQ will present draft CAMP Priority Greenhouse Gas Reduction Measures proposed for incorporation into the Priority Plan, which is due to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on March 1, 2024. MDEQ and the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians Office of Environmental Protection invite the public to provide feedback on these measures. The priority measures are being developed as part of the CAMP and identify main sources of Mississippi’s air pollution and potential reduction measures. We invite you to review and comment on the measures before they are incorporated in the final Priority Plan. Visit Clean Air Mississippi Project (CAMP) https://lnkd.in/dYcPMty6 to learn more. Questions? Contact: [email protected] or MDEQ’s Air Division at 601.961.5171.
