FY25 CI&A Program NOW OPEN!? ? The Maryland Energy Administration (MEA) has announced that the fiscal year 2025 Commercial, Industrial & Agricultural grant program has opened and is currently accepting applications. Grants issued by this program support the implementation of energy efficiency upgrades in stationary facilities. The benefits provided by these technologies may include operational expense savings, emissions reductions, health and safety compliance measures, and productivity enhancements. Maryland MEP recently organized a tour of the Occupational Skills Training Center with the Maryland Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services, bringing together Maryland manufacturers and stakeholders. The visit aimed to foster new partnerships, increase awareness of manufacturing job opportunities, and pave the way for individuals undergoing the reentry process to pursue careers in manufacturing. Students in the program are acquiring skills in various areas such as automotive maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, design, and safety to meet future workforce demands. Maryland MADE 4.0?is a program designed to support the growth and advancement of Maryland’s manufacturing sector. The objective of the program is to educate, inform and assist manufacturers with the adoption and deployment of smart manufacturing and high-performance manufacturing technologies that will increase energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and enable lasting improvements. 2024 Biotech Boot Camp Graduate Spotlight! Fumi joined the Biotech Boot Camp in July 2024. Prior to the Boot Camp, she was a licensed pharmacist and clinical research associate with over 10 years of experience. Fumi joined the Biotech Boot Camp to expand her skills and explore new opportunities in the biotech sector. “The Biotech Boot Camp has had a tremendous impact on my life, giving me the hands-on experience and confidence to transition into this field. It has opened doors to new career possibilities.” Fumi graduated from the Biotech Boot Camp in August and has accepted a job with Precision For Medicine as a Biorepository Technician.?
