Ringing the Lutine Bell at Lloyd's Did you know Lloyd's of London rings a historic bell every time a ship is lost at sea? This is the Lutine Bell, named after the HMS Lutine, a British frigate that sank in 1799 with a massive cargo of gold and silver coins onboard. The bell serves as a solemn reminder of the risks faced by seafarers and the importance of maritime insurance. We recently had the opportunity to visit Lloyd's and see the Lutine Bell firsthand.
