Making Michigan the No. 1 state for girls and women in technology! Join us in inspiring and growing women in tech.
关于我们
Our vision is to make Michigan the No.1 state for women in technology. Michigan’s IT workforce is growing, and there’s a compelling business case for ensuring companies hire and retain diverse employees to fuel innovation. MCWT Foundation’s 130-plus partner companies help fund programs that support this cause. Everything we do centers on inspiring and growing girls and women in technology. We work to broadly reach young girls to get them to consider technology and deeply connect with women who choose the tech path. We spark young girls' interest in tech through robotics grants, coding and website competitions, and summer technology camps. Our 700-plus members stay engaged through eLearning, professional development events, networking and mentoring programs. This work allows us to create a steady stream of women ready to enter the technology workforce, and we support them throughout their professional lives. Partner funding, a small staff, and more than 300 volunteers have enabled us to bring resources to more areas of the state, replicate our summer technology camps and grow our programs. We convene a network of stakeholders—teachers, parents, students, businesses, professionals and retirees—who are committed to seeing Michigan's tech community thrive. Support us in our mission by volunteering, donating, or becoming a partner, or joining our membership. Stay connected here and on our members-only LinkedIn group and Facebook page, facebook.com/MCWTFoundation. Last weekend, I had a fantastic experience at the Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation (MCWT) conference. The conference provided an amazing opportunity to connect with people at various stages of their tech careers. Thank you Judy A. for this wonderful event! ? The incredible keynote made by Dr. Barbara Ericson on "Learning Computing in the Age of Generative AI" was very inspiring. I was thrilled to learn?that Dr. Ericson, the creator of the e-book I used to complete my Python3 programming course from the University of Michigan, is also from Georgia Institute of Technology!?Kealy Williams' keynote on "Breaking Free from a Lone Coder" was engaging and informative, highlighting the importance of cooperation and delving into her career journey. I also had a wonderful conversation with Juman Doleh-Alomary, and Kathy Church where I learned about their personal experiences and received valuable advice. Dr. Kaiqi Zhao, Sai Deepthi Yeddula, Ph.D., and Mst Shapna Akter, don't be surprised if I suddenly appear at your office at Oakland University! To everyone I met, talked, laughed, and played games with: Shiyu Xiang, Tia Martin, Kajal Modi, Kaajal Shah, Yen Lam, Jasmine Alfaro, Shams Alkhalidy, Nour Atieh, Chloe Z., KAIXUAN H., Anna St. Clair, Niloufar Eghbali, Christina Trotta, Vaishnavi Yelshetty, Destiny Yang, Helen (Lexi) Sharp, Maham Abrar, Aishwarya Joshi, Anwesha Pradhananga, Minji Hur It was a pleasure meeting all of you. Although we come from different areas and are of different ages, and although we may not be able to see each other often, I will always cherish the time we spent together. Let's stay in touch and meet up whenever we get the chance!

Becoming a #transformationalCIO, accelerating necessary business change, is the aspiration of many #ITWomenLeaders, and has become an IT imperative. But not all CIOs have positioned themselves and teams to drive #transformation across the business. These pragmatic insights may help: https://lnkd.in/ekBxnfgB? #womenintech, #womenCIOs
