Student workers at Chuck’s Place took the lead in planning and executing the steps needed to bring Shamrock Shakes to both staff and students. They developed and refined the recipe, provided samples to generate interest, utilized technology to design promotional posters and order forms, and finally prepared and delivered the shakes to many delighted students and staff today. Great job, student workers!

What a fun day! The Junk Jam Band from Young Audiences Arts for Learning held a concert for our students at MES. Students listened and learned about the ways you can recycle and make music with your surroundings. We were honored to have many guests join us! Thank you all so much for the support of MCSSSD. A massive and special thanks to all of our MES staff and administration who help put this together, especially Tom Kane, our music instructor. We continue to celebrate Read Across America. Mrs. Stephanie's class read "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" by Dr. Seuss. We discussed what was read and made a hot air balloon craft. Students chose 4 pictures to describe a place they want to go to, something they want to see, an adventure they want to have, and something they want to do. Students used pattern blocks during math centers to create a fish from the book "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish". Finally, students watched a short video on "Bartholomew and the Oobleck" and took turns measuring and mixing ingredients to make green oobleck and explore the fun texture!

It's Read Across America Week in Ms. Caitlyn's Speech room at JFC! We kicked off the week with One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish on Monday and made fish bowls. On Tuesday, we read Cat in the Hat and worked on describing Dr. Seuss related words by attribute (category, parts, color, function, location). Wednesday was Wacky Wednesday! Ms. Caitlyn and Titan enjoyed showing off their mismatched outfits and crazy hair. What a blast!
