Transparency is vital to a trustworthy and thriving cannabis industry. Testing labs are the backbone of quality control in cannabis. Every product goes through rigorous testing for cannabinoids, terpenes, pesticides, heavy metals, and more to ensure consumer safety and accurate labeling. Over the past year, I've been gathering cannabis testing data from states across the country through FOIA requests. This data offers a wealth of insights that can reshape our understanding of cannabis products and the policies that govern them. Data should be available to everyone— and transparency is the foundation of a healthier industry. That's why I'm sharing (almost) all the data I've compiled so you can see it for yourself. ?? I’m thankful to The Boston Globe for continuing to bring this issue to light. Current regulations are failing to keep cannabis consumers safe from contaminants like mold. Improved testing regulations need to be an immediate priority. There are actions the commission could take now that would have instant effects, such as making all compulsory testing data publicly available. A sincere thank you to Jeff Rawson for continually advocating for the consumers and workers of the Massachusetts cannabis industry. Swift and decisive action must be taken by the commission to address the pervasive issue of lab shopping. "Consumers and workers are being harmed by the failure of the commission to use shelf testing and the analysis of aggregated compliance test results to monitor the market.?... Some calls for a “standard lab” in Mass are sincere, but some may be efforts to punt on more immediate reforms. Entrusting more resources to the CCC’s troubled testing department will not help the vulnerable consumers and workers of Mass cannabis. Deep reforms are urgently required." https://lnkd.in/gxyBQQgn

"The conclusion of the study was that there was no correlation between THC and how much they enjoyed the high. Zero. But the aroma almost perfectly matched. That's the science, but there are some stores in Massachusetts that won't buy any flower under 20 percent THC. That’s silly. It's not science, and it's not experience.
