We are proud to share that our President and CEO, Dr. Melvin B. Price was awarded the Podiatric Physician of the Year by the State of Florida at the 2025 Florida Podiatric Medical Association (FPMA) SAM Conference, which took place earlier this month in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. Each year, the FPMA awards this honor as part of their educational mission to promote continuing education in podiatric medicine, podiatric surgery, and practice management through workshops and seminars.

This morning, MCR Health was one of the 150 business volunteers that visited with 4th graders across Manatee County, bringing real-world career insights into the classroom thanks to Project TEACH through the Manatee Chamber of Commerce. Jason Lafayette, Director of Revenue Cycle, Geoff Cordes of Health Center Operations; Ruth Gonzalez Jimenez, Regional Health Center Manager; and Joan Bolden, Patient Services Trainer spent time with students from Manatee Elementary School, James Tilman Elementary School, William H. Bashaw Elementary School, and Daughtrey Elementary School. Through this opportunity, our MCR staff helped impact 3300 students to learn about their possible future careers in healthcare but also the unlimited possibilities in front of them. This event highlights our commitment to community partnerships as we provide role models from the healthcare field.

MCR Health provides dental services through our mobile units to elementary schools in the Manatee, Sarasota, and Desoto Counties. Before getting the cleaning, our dental hygienists make sure that the proper way to clean teeth and take care of them are taught! MCR is proud to serve the community and ensure healthy teeth for everyone. See below for some pictures of our recent visits to Manatee Elementary School and Daughtrey Elementary School!

Throughout the beginning of March, MCR Health held a strong presence before the play "Death of a Salesman" at the Manatee Performing Arts Center in Bradenton. MCR met with guests as they arrived before their show times. Guests stopped to hear more about MCR Health, the services we offer, and information about our site locations. Thank you to our Outreach Team and MCR volunteers who engaged with attendees and shared flyers and brochures.

On February 13, the STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH Sarasota hosted the Community?Health?Improvement Partnership (CHIP) Leadership Council. Twenty-five partner organizations, including MCR Health, gathered to review the 2024 Community Health Assessment and identify key areas for improvement in our community: Access to Care, Behavioral Health and Well-Being, and the Built Environment. MCR Health’s Outreach Team proudly participated by engaging with presenters, answering questions, and sharing information about our services available to residents in #Manatee and #Sarasota Counties. MCR Health is proud to celebrate Dental Assistant Week! Dental Assistants our vital to the healthcare practice as their work expands to all levels of the success of dentistry. From assisting the dentist, to taking X-rays, to managing the business office, or speaking with patients. Dental Assistants are essential! Help us celebrate this week-long tribute to the commitment and dedication dental assistants exhibit throughout the year. This year's theme is “Superheroes Behind the Smiles." The 48th annual Dental Assistants Recognition Week is a time for dental assistants to receive greater recognition for their own unique and diverse contributions to the dental profession and the dental health care of the public. Cheers to our dental assistants at MCR and all over the world!

We recently joined East Coast Migrant Head Start in #Myakka for a Family Learning Event where parents and children connected through fun activities. Our outreach team engaged with attendees about our services in #Manatee, #DeSoto, and #Sarasota counties, especially the nearby Edgar Price Health Center in Parrish. We shared flyers, brochures, and giveaways, while the Myakka fire department showcased their fire truck and safety tools. Despite the chilly weather, the event brought together 100 community members for a day of learning and connection!

MCR Health is proud to partner in the community and highlight conversations that are needed. On Saturday, March 1st, MCR's Lamont Allen will be part of a panel of industry experts focused on discussing the solutions to disparities in healthcare. This type of public awareness is important to the healthcare conversation and increasing the knowledge base to improve healthcare access for all.
